I rebooted and it got through running TVTweak.

This is the log.txt: Error: no program information
Database incomplete, errors encountered
Error: unable to create output file "PTVBrowser.pdb"
Did your edit your PTVManager.ini file to use the xml file as the listingurl? Otherwise PTVB will not find the manually downloaded file.

I thought it might be helpful to post the command line variables for those who are wanting to play around PTVB.

Usage: PTVMANAGER [options] [<service>|<url>|ALL] [data]

-channel: set single-channel filter (e.g., -channel:202)
-clock: set current time (default is computer's clock)
-console create console window for text output
-dump: dump specified database file
-dhtml dump document HTML
-dmodel dump document object model
-gui display GUI (default if no console)
-help display program options
-hours: set total number of hours (e.g., -hours:12)
-html: set name of HTML output file
-input: read specified database file
-install install program files on PC and handheld
-minimized run the program minimized (for GUI only)
-nocache disable private cache
-nocookies disable cookies (default when caching)
-nodetail disable program details
-nolinks disable links in HTML output
-nopack disable program coalescing
-offline use offline data for any uncached data
-output: create specified output file (HTML or TVDB)
-provider: specify a provider # (see Provider.ini)
-sleep: sleep # of milliseconds before continuing
-start: set starting time ([yyyy-]mmm-dd,hh[:mm][pm|am])
-sync perform remote synchronization, if needed
-timeout: set timeout for HTTP requests (in seconds)
-transfer transfer specified database to device
-uninstall remove program files from PC
-update apply downloaded automatic updates, if any
-verbose: set verbosity level (default is 0)

Tip: Run with "start /wait" if using "-console" from a command prompt.

Hope this helps,
Jim

From PTVManager.ini:

[zap2it-dd]
description=XMLTV Zap2it Listings (US, Canada)
regurl=http://labs.zap2it.com
providervars=LoginName,Password,provider_id
providerurl=tv_grab_na_dd --share . --dd-data lineups.xml --list-lineups
channelurl=tv_grab_na_dd --share . --dd-data lineups.xml --reprocess --list-channels
listingurl=provider.xml
listingformat=xmltv
categories=zap2it-categories
granularity=5

I take it that is where your xmltv, TVTweak and ptvb are found.

Make sure your ptvmanagaer.ini file is edited to where the zap2it-dd section looks like this:

[zap2it-dd]
description=XMLTV Zap2it Listings (US, Canada)
regurl=http://labs.zap2it.com
providervars=LoginName,Password,provider_id
#providerurl=tv_grab_na_dd --share . --dd-data lineups.xml --list-lineups
channelurl=tv_grab_na_dd --share . --dd-data lineups.xml --reprocess --list-channels
listingurl=provider.xml
listingformat=xmltv
categories=zap2it-categories
granularity=5

The key is the listingurl= line. Make sure it is the same file name that you have for the xmltv output file.

Hope this helps,
Jim

I've got mine running from a batch file that looks like this:

@echo off
cls
c:
cd c:\program files\pocket tv browser\
xmltv.exe tv_grab_na_dd --days 14 --output provider.xml
tvtweak auto
ptvmanager -console:log.txt -transfer all
echo New Pocket TV listings have been downloaded
echo Please sync Palm
pause
exit

It's running fine and creating the correct sync file. However, each time I run it I get the following error messages:

NOTE: The startTime you specified was invalid and has been corrected to 2007-08-25T00:00:00Z.
NOTE: The endTime you specified was invalid and has been corrected to 2007-09-08T23:59:59Z.

What's causing this and how do I correct it?

That is a XMLTV issue and to my knowledge does not hurt anything. That would be a question for Robert and the XMLTV gang. I get the same message running XMLTV in a command prompt apart from PTVB. I read a post by Robert somewhere on the board that that will be corrected in a future build of XMLTV. So ignore it, watch for a XMLTV update and enjoy PTVB! :)

Happy camper!

Hello again,

I'm still having difficulties. I was having issues with zap2it before I tried SD (not downloading)

Anyway, I uninstalled PTVBrowser and reinstalled. I then changed the PTVmanager.ini file, did the xmltv setup with SD, and created a batch file as proposed (without tVTweak).

I run the batch file and it downloads the data from SD. I get and 80 MB provider.xml file.

I want to transfer it to my Windows mobile in the form of a PocketTVBrowser.tvdb like I did from zap2it. This files was usually 3 or 4MB.

What am I missing here?

Thanks,

D

I copied all the new XMlTV files (xmltv-0.5.48-win32)to my C:\Program Files\Pocket TV Browser folder

Using a text editor (like notepad) I opened the file C:\Program Files\Pocket TV Browser\Provider.ini
and changed my login name to be the new Schedules Direct login in name

LoginName=yyyyy@zzzz

PocketTV Browser works just fine (for me) now without any of the hassles of above.

Let me know if this works for you.

I think that you have to look at the device tab in PTVB and make the changes for which device you want PTVB to create and transfer to.

I ran each task seperately in a commnad window to make sure each worked before putting all together in a batch file. Might try that to see where the break down is.
