Licensing Question

Post by Valdhor »

I would like to develop an HTML 5 application for use on an iPad which will be used only by me to show channel listings and hook into an IR blaster to change channels (And possibly interact with DirecTV to schedule recordings).

Upon reading the Subscription Agreement this seems to be a direct violation of the terms.

How does one develop a new application if by doing so you violate the terms of the agreement?

Best Regards

So long as your HTTP server is on your home network or not publicly accessible on the Internet , and only used by you, I don't see a problem.

Your project would be considered "personal research". You just have to make sure you don't hit the "data redistribution" limitation.
