Only one day at a time and no Prime-Time listings

Hi I've happily been using SD successfully since it's inception...

But since the "Perfect Storm" (my subscription ran out at the same time SD/Tribune were having server issues - I've since re-subbed) of my guide data only gives me one day listing - and that one day guide data stops at 9pm. Then it shows me only what's on at 9pm for the next 12 nights. When I check the next day, I've got the same thing - all the listing for that one day up until 9pm. It won't let me see more than one day in advance despite the fact I'm asking for 13 days worth of guide data (the same as I have for years).

The funny thing is that it doesn't happen to every channel - but most of them - about 85%.

I'm on Rogers Digital in Fredericton, NB, Canada and use xmltv to download my listings.

Anybody else run into this problem?

Thanks,
Rob

Very strange...

**EDIT** removed stupid questions since you say you use xmltv

Does XMLTV output any warnings?

Have you looked at the XMLTV listings to verify the problem is with the data not your application?
If necessary, you can use tv_grep to break out a single station.

Try running "tv_grab_na_dd --dd-data dd.xml" and look at the dd.xml file. That's the raw data from Tribune's servers.

If the problem still exists, I'd like you to reset your password and send it to admin@sd ... this is a problem I have to see to believe! (and I'll turn it in to Tribune)

Hi Robert - thanks for the quick response.

I'm trying to break out a single station to make it easier to read using: "C:\xmltv>xmltv.exe tv_grep --output single.xml --channel-id 11502" but all i get returned is: "Timezone is -0300" then it just hangs there forever.

I suspect I'm using tv_grep incorrectly - can you confirm?

Just for added info - my dd.xml file is over 10MB and the first few lines are:

Code: Select all

<?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?>
<SOAP-ENV:Envelope xmlns:SOAP-ENV='http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/' xmlns:xsd='http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema' xmlns:xsi='http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance' xmlns:SOAP-ENC='http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/'>
<SOAP-ENV:Body>
<ns1:downloadResponse
SOAP-ENV:encodingStyle='http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/'
xmlns:ns1='urn:TMSWebServices'>
<xtvdResponse xsi:type='ns1:xtvdResponse'>
<messages xsi:type='ns1:messages'>
<message>Your subscription will expire: 2011-07-24T16:02:21Z</message>
</messages>
<xtvd from='2010-09-06T04:00:01Z' to='2010-09-13T04:00:01Z' schemaVersion='1.3' xmlns='urn:TMSWebServices' xmlns:xsi='http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance' xsi:schemaLocation='urn:TMSWebServices http://docs.tms.tribune.com/tech/xml/schemas/tmsxtvd.xsd'>
thanks again,
rc

that didn't help. You can zip and email the dd.xml to admin@sd

re: tv_grep

You need to specify the full channel-id, plus give it an input file
--output doesn't seem to be an option for tv_grep

xmltv.exe tv_grep --channel-id 11502.labs.zap2it.com <input.xml >output.xml

I emailed dd.xml your way...

I looked at the dd.xml file you sent.

The request wasn't for 14 days, it was for 7 (the default of tv_grab_na_dd)
xtvd from='2010-09-06T04:00:01Z' to='2010-09-13T04:00:01Z'

Looking through the file <schedule> tags, I see many entries for each station for each day.

I ran the data through xmltv\tv_grab_na_dd I also data for each day.

I suspect you have an application problem.

OK - thanks for taking the time to look at my xml file.

I'll start the troubleshooting process with the application, then. I'll post when I find the culprit.

Once again, Thanks for your time, Robert.
