Only 1 Day Of Listings?

Post by ortech »

Hi All,

I'm using MediaPortal 1.0.1.0 with the SchedulesDirect plugin. I just signed up for the trial yesterday and wanted to test out the listing. I get listing data for all my channels, and everything is mapped to the correct channels and I thought everything was perfect. But I have found an issue.... I have the SD plugin configured to grab 8 days of listings, but I am only receiving about 1 day of listings.

When I configure the SD plugin to re-download the listings data after the TVservice has been restarted, it does. But when I go into MediaPortal my listings data ends for most (Not all) channels roughly 24 hours from that time. There's about 3 or 4 channels that have listings data, but the rest don't.

I'm on Charter Cable (zip 97527) using the analog lineup, if that matters.

I would technically be OK with the fact that it only gets 24 hours of data at a time, but it doesn't appear to automatically grab the next day of listings data as I near the "no data" times.

I just downloaded your analog lineup and got 14 days... maybe the data was downloaded but it didn't import correctly?

(BTW, a trial subscription doesn't limit the number of days you can download.. you get full service for all 7 days)

Thanks for the reply. I've spent some time looking through the logs to see what's going on. It looks like the SchedulesDirect plugin is grabbing 24 hours of data, even though it is reporting it is configured to grab 8 days. Odd. Examples from the log:
2009-05-06 14:36:49.968750 [TVService]: SchedulesDirect EPG Client: version 1.1.0 starting

2009-05-06 14:37:21.281250 [SchedulesDirect EPG Client]: Processing lineup Charter Communications [id=OR36435:- type=Cable postcode=97526]
Is this an issue with the SD plugin perhaps? I'm just not sure where to go to continue further troubleshooting. I've attached the full log in case I've missed something.

The log you attached has this entry

Code: Select all

2009-05-06 14:37:50.140625 [SchedulesDirect EPG Client]: Requesting program listings from [5/12/2009 12:00:00 AM] to [5/14/2009 12:00:00 AM]
It looks like your application requests small groups at a time, and doesn't realize what's in it's database. If there's a way to reset the listings and download fresh that may help.

You can request a report of the download requests I see in the logs via the "Contact US" link on the SD app. I'd rather not handle that in the public forum.

Thank you for your help! With the info you provided, I was at least able to isolate it down to the app I was using to grab the listing data. I've switched to using mc2xml along with the xmltv plugin that comes with MediaPortal.

I now have all the listings info, and all appears well!
