Re: Grouping Parts of a Multiple-Part Episode

[ Right now Data Direct will say what part number and how many parts are in a particular program, but since each part has a different program ID, there is no way to actually find the other parts. Andrew not all the multi-part episodes have their own program IDs. I had to write something that added a...

Re: Reruns?

This is something that I have never understood. On my system a program has been watched or it hasn't. A series has been encountered before or is hasn't. It's got to be local info. If you have to choose between two shows you don't need to know which is a rerun you need to know if one of them has been...

Re: Is 7 days long enough?

Fiddle Free TV is one of Schedules Direct's 'Approved Apps'. It has a built in catch 22... By the time a user has collected 4 TV cards and a TB of storage they are invested in the PVR they're using. They like it and they're not going to change. Things like ripping DVDs are video library functions. I...

Re: Is 7 days long enough?

Okay... I guess no one cares so... I wrote and use Fiddle Free TV because I believe that I'm right and everyone else is wrong. My problem with all the PVRs out there is that they are founded on the concept of watching TV. It's an error that gives the right answers to the wrong questions. If you star...

Re: Is 7 days long enough?

Slim, we are way off topic here. A full featured PVR is really too large of a project for a one man show. The PVR system I created is called Fiddle Free TV. It's my hobby project. I've spent years on it and I would be happy to talk about it but it might be better if one of the guys with admin access...

Re: Is 7 days long enough?

Have you actually tried it. I wouldn't have believed it before I did. You mentioned you looked at it but I am having a hard time believing that you actually setup and ran it. In my test it was not even close. Yes. In fact I didn't have a Linux host running at the time and had to setup the whole thi...

Re: Is 7 days long enough?

My main point was I have used about 6 Windows PVR programs and all of them were limited by the Windows system. Comparing Linux and Windows PVR's is the best example of what you can do with a system with less overhead. I just dug up an old Linux CD.... Kernel 1.2.8. I used it for wireless Internet o...

:? Mighty bold talk.

8-) Some might consider it highly inflammatory and completely inaccurate.

10 days would allow users to fiddle around on two weekends.

Re: Top Apps Used

TVScheduler, I sincerely hope that was sarcasm. Well is was humor, but SD is either a data provider for MythTV (and a few others) or they're something more. There is a line there. If they start selling T-shirts then might as well start selling other things. This of course would be a lot of work and...
