Re: Station category ideas

I think it would be nice to have all the HD stations grouped together. I'm sure it would make it easier to select/deselect all the stations together. There's no indicator of what makes a station HD or not. We could pull out everything that ends in HD or DT, but it would miss some, and probably get ...

In case of an audit. They have no reason to trust us when we say "X users".

Re: Privacy policy?

I was certain SD would have one of those "We'll take your privacy to the grave" policies (there are so few out there). I was rather shocked to find how porous the PP actually is. Actually, you'll notice that a lot of those kind of privacy policies are very explicit about what they won't do with you...

Re: Password Criteria

Due to some troubles with the TMS servers, passwords can be between 6 and 50 characters long, and can only contain alphanumeric characters, spaces and underscores. If/when we move to hosting the data ourselves, that limitation will be removed. Usernames are limited to lower-case alphanumeric charact...

Re: Mixed Emotions!

Unfortunately, it's not as simple as that. A nonprofit, especially one that is trying to get federal 501(c)(3) status, has to provide some sort of social good. If all we do is provide TV listings data for even a small fee, the IRS won't see us as a nonprofit, and we'll end up paying all kinds of tax...

Re: Password Criteria

Isn't accepted where? Your application, or our website? If it's in your application, please make sure that you're using the lower-case login name that shows when you log into the SD web page.

Re: CT TV Listings

The biggest reason im posting this is to make SD aware We've been aware of this since he first posted in his forums about planning to make the service available (several weeks ago). I'd say that competition is good, but in this case, he's licensing the data from TMS, the same as we do, so the only ...

Re: Mixed Emotions!

To me the next logical step is that we should insist that the SD folks except a salary. Excepting is what we do now. We might choose to accept something later, though. The main problem we're dealing with is that the IRS tends to frown upon nonprofit directors getting paid. However, it's possible to...

Re: Suggestions for Lineup Editing

Note that neither Robert nor xris has responded at all to the second suggestion in my thread-starting message - namely to have an option of seeing all the channels in channel number order without dividing them into the separate groups. Sorry, guess I missed this. It's actually already being worked ...

Re: Any status on TMS, yet?

On the other hand, we are paying TMS to provide this service to our members, and we do try to keep them accountable when things go down. In this case, none of the SD team (there really are only about 3 of us who watch these things) were near a computer for most of the day (real jobs + travel), so we...
