Re: In Need of Old Guide Data - Comcast - Waldorf, MD

Unfortunately, we can't condone this sort of sharing. Tribune has made it clear to us that we are not allowed to store archived data (they offer this information as an additional product, at additional cost -- although it goes back for decades), and though our subscriber agreement does not seem to i...

Re: Sign-Up Issue

I hate to be cliche, but have you tried clearing your browser cache/cookies?

Can you post some more information, like what browser you are using, etc? A link to a screenshot would help, too. Everything looks fine to me on our end, and the page loads fine for me.

Re: State of SD?

Charities do have expenses. As long as they qualify for there non-profit status by not making money then they should be treated as a charity. People have complained that they are making money. As a former accountant of a non-profit they can't be or they would be breaking the law. So saying they are...

Re: In Response to the Newsletter

Disclaimer: I'm a former board member of SD, and the current COO. I'm also a F/OSS software developer. I acknowledge the opinion that SD should exist solely to provide cheap listings data to users of F/OSS software. However, if we do that, we'd never be able to get 501(c)(3) status, and there would ...

Re: Self-Hosting....I'm all for it.

I doubt that we will be able to provide custom lineups, even with self-hosting (or rather, nothing more than very basic ones). Though we don't yet have a contract with TMS about this (and if we did, I probably wouldn't be allowed to discuss much about it), I suspect that they will want us to be extr...

Re: State of SD?

It would be very hard to get 501(c)(3) status if all we did was provide a TV listings service. On the other hand, to be a charity, we would need to accept donations (which are different than the membership/program fees you pay), which will probably go more toward building an endowment fund to sponso...

Re: Can I get the TV listings without using xmltv?

The listings server works via SOAP, so you won't find a super-simple way to grab the data. If you want to know more, head over to the Developers Corner forum for a copy of the full spec, which TMS recently gave us permission to post (yay!).

Re: Can Not Get SD To Work With MythDora

If it's just going into 'video sources' and selecting 'SchedulesDirect' and typing in the username and password in all lowercase and hitting 'Finish' then running mythfilldatabase then obviously something still isn't right. Well, first off, did you create any lineups in your account at schedulesdir...

Re: Thanks + MythTV Packman SuSE Issue

Packages are supposed to install to /usr/bin, whereas hand-compiled things usually go to /usr/local/bin -- that's just how things are supposed to work. New packages won't remove old files because it's up to the old packages to do that (think of it as if when you upgrade, the old package "removes" it...

Re: New channels added automatically?

SD isn't adding the channels, TMS/Zap2it is. We're currently subscribed to a service that is hosted at Zap2it.com (not to be confused with the former Zap2it Labs service). Unfortunately, there is no way for TMS to not auto-subscribe new channels (we've asked). The best we can say right now is that w...
