Re: XML Data appears to be invalid

It has been my understanding that the "raw" listings I got from Zap2it and now thru XMLTV were always in utf-8 format, not strict XML. And by specifying utf-8 for Java input file streaming, special characters have been converted into appropriate unicode characters without any problem. The only XML e...

Re: Consuming the Service in VS2005

sounds like it may be easier to just use XMLTV.EXE to get the data. :) xmltv.exe tv_grab_na_dd --dd-data dd.xml --download-only. (or you can let it convert to XMLTV format and parse that) Robert The ddClient I had been using to download from Zap2it until the end of last month would not work with SD...

Oops. Sorry. Found the answer on another topic under this heading. Thought I had seen something about it before.

Convert XMLTV file back to Zap2it format

I understand that it is possible to convert an XMLTV format file back to Zap2it file format after (or during) downloading from SD/DD but I can't find anything in XMLTV documentation or mailing lists that explains how this is done. Would appreciate receiving explanation and example.

Re: SOAP Access

So how about adding a "Docs" tab to the SD web page as a place to put all such documentation, past, present and future so everyone will know where to find it?

Re: Differences between Data Direct and Zap2IT Labs

Perhaps the reason I am more confused by this than others is because I have some different interests. For example, my personal program maintains a list of several thousand movie identifiers for movies I have already seen or never want to see. So, instead of having to plow through a list of 500 movie...

Re: Differences between Data Direct and Zap2IT Labs

Since I was not one of the lucky 300, this discussion is just confusing me even further. Is there some place from which I can download a sample SD data file (any place, any time) so I can see just what it looks like and compare it with my Zap2It files?

Re: Differences between Data Direct and Zap2IT Labs

What we need is a new version of the TMSDataDirect XTVD Schema Definition. I have been using Version 1.3.6 and I believe TMS has a version 1.3.7 on its web site. Are they going to provide one for what they are feeding to SchedulesDirect? Also, is the 14-char id already in effect or is it upcoming?
