Comcast announces some time zone shifts. Action required?

I live in the Pacific Time Zone. Some of Comcast's feeds for HD channels are on the East Coast schedule. In the past, there would sometimes be a discrepancy between the schedule info and the actual programming. A recent bill announced that a few channels were moving to Pacific time, so that the SD a...

Re: TMS dropping Data Direct!!! But no reason to panic.

I just found out about this situation today. glad to see it is being worked on on several fronts. I'm curious how the stopgap XML service works, in regards to channel lineups. Is there a website where I'd need to define channel lineups, or will my SD lineups be used to choose which channel informati...

Re: MythTV without schedulesdirect?

caseyk: You can run MythTV without Schedules Direct. Your program guide will be dependent on "EIT" data. This is programming information provided by the digital channels themselves. (I'm not sure if analog channels have it.) There are two drawbacks: 1) It doesn't extend very far into the future. A f...

Re: New lineups for new qam-addressable Comcast channels?

markbean: You might have more luck asking that question on the MythTV user email list. There's a better chance of finding someone with the specific answers you seek. However: I believe that Myth doesn't like it when channels share the same xmlid. The HD versions of network channels have their own xm...

Re: New lineups for new qam-addressable Comcast channels?

Killabee44: The QAM channel format is "hidden" in normal use. The cable company configures their STBs -- the official way to view their offerings -- so that the channel selection is a simple numeric list, with no dashes or what-not. The classic channels retain their old number. For example, in Portl...

mythfilldatabase shows old expiration date

Mythfilldatabase is the MythTV utility which loads SD schedule data into the MythTV database. I happened to be watching it in operation on the command line yesterday. Every few dozen lines it lists my SD subscription's expiration date. For some reason, it still thinks that my subscription is expirin...

Re: this tv network

I've had this on my Myth setup for several months now. I don't know if the cable TV lineups have the listing, but it does exist in the broadcast listing for the Portland area. The callsign is KATUDT2. The XMLid is 62792. "This" is a syndicated movie channel that might be popping up all over the coun...

Re: Will Comcast listings strip analog channels?

That's interesting. Will SD edit its lineups to follow these?

Re: Will Comcast listings strip analog channels?

My post above was premature . . . the channels just moved again. Another day of scanning and reviewing and my Myth system is back up and running. In very welcome news: Some nice open source folks have made utility which scans for the channel map used by Comcast DTAs. This can be used to create or up...
