Hmmmm and then it worked on the 3rd try but after I had logged on from SD. I had been loged into SD poking around about the new stuff. Wonder if being logged on disrupts XMLTV fetches?????? Oh well it finally worked.

Right around 1pm central I was informed of (and fixing) database problems. I even shut down the webserver while I fixed it. That's probably what caused the intermittent behavior. If you're running unmodified code/hosts you could have also gotten Tribune's servers. That's taking half the load.

BTW, if you use xmltv.exe, be sure to upgrade to the latest alpha-exe so you're sure to hit the new server consistently. http://alpha-exe.xmltv.org

Installed the new xmltv and did a test download. Looked OK. How do I know when there is a newer/final one?

I just made an official XMLTV release. You can subscribe to the XMLTV announce mailing list if you want to be notified.

If you're using the alpha-exe, there's no reason to upgrade though... changes to tv_grab_na_dd are pretty rare.
