Looking to join. How accurate are listings?

Looking to join. How accurate are listings?

Postby Mugsy323 » Thu Jul 16, 2015 6:27 am

I just discovered SD but I can't find any information regarding the completeness of listings.

I tried using a free service, but it didn't include "sub-channels" like 2.2 or 57.4. It also transposed channels I don't get (like 3.1) over channels I do (displaying the channel info for 3.1 over channel 8.1) with no way to fix.

So before I shell out any money, will SD show the listings for just of my selected channels?

We offer a free 7 day trial... give it a shot and see if it works for you.

The Local Broadcast lineups do have major and minor ATSC channel numbers (as well as FCC frequency too!)

Not sure what you mean by display a channel "over" another. We provide raw data, so how it's displayed is up to the application.

Thanks. The app I'm trying out, "NextPVR", allows me to display only the channels I want in my EPG, but the free "mc2xml" app reads in EVERY channel supposedly available to my area and automatically inserts them into the listing in sequential order. So even though I don't receive any channels between 2.2 and 8.1, it displays the listings for "3.1" in place of channel 8.1. :(

NextPVR 3.4.8 has native support for the JSON service which we also offer.

I am also using NextPVR and HDHomerun and now wondering which would be a better service JSON or Schedules direct?

Thank you for your reply as I know this is an old post.

Schedules Direct has two service offerings: XML and JSON.

The JSON service has more data (20-30 days) and has some other features, such as season/episode metadata, "You may also like" suggestions and images such as headshots, movie posters, etc.

Since NextPVR has a native grabber for the JSON service you should probably use it to reduce the number of moving parts.
