I was very simple you do.

1. Open Synaptic Package Manager

2. Turn proposed updates on and update list.

3. Close

4. Wait a bit and the updates available bubble will come up.

5. Unclick all non MythTV items and update.

6. Open Synaptic and turn off proposed updates and update list.

7. Create an account on Schedules direct and make lineup(s)

8. Bring up myth setup and change source to Schedules Direct internal (above current Zap2it selection).

9. Restart myth backend and run mythfilldatabase

10. Enjoy. This is all I had to do and I had 4 lineups.

and I was in a panic. Silly me.

I installed the bleeding-edge MythBuntu 7.01 Alpha (i386 AND x64); all I can say is "it could have been worse." When I tried to use the "change roles" bit to make a primary master to a backup master, it couldn't find some things it needed, and I ended up reinstalling from the CD to avoid the repositories. THAT worked.

I used the regular Ubuntu Fiesty with the proposed repository turned on for the MythTV upgrade only. Seems to work fine.

Thanks very much. Looks like a sound and solid approach.

I will try this tonight.

I was quite worried also.

[added at 8.30pm 11 Sep 07] : Worked a treat!!! Thanks!!!
