Avatar cartoon has same description each episode

Post by rconstantine » Sat Sep 01, 2007 6:28 pm

I'd like to record Avatar on Nick for my son. Although I can manually sift through recordings, I'd rather not. Currently, all descriptions say "A 12-year-old must master his powers in order to save the world."

Most likely this is because the TMS database has this listed as a program without distinct episodes complete with episode titles and episode specific descriptions. One reason may be because the originator / producer does not provide episodic information to Tribune Media. I suggest you have schedules direct check with TMS about this issue. If TMS does not receive specific episodic information the issue could take some time to resolve.

Isn't that what this forum is for; so SD knows what to report to TMS for fixing? Or am I misunderstanding?

Lineups are something that TMS can easily control, and the fix is good for a while.

If a broadcaster isn't providing detail for a show, that's probably not something TMS can fix even if they wanted to.

Do other online guides ( TVLISTINGS.COM, TVGUIDE.COM ) show detail? If so, then there's hope. If not, then it's a decision by the broadcaster.

Looks like TVGUIDE at least has subtitle info, which SD doesn't have.

See http://www.tvguide.com/detail/tv-show.a ... pisodelist

So it seems they should at least be able to get that, right?

That's the link to the Episode List.. not the channel guide.

tvlistings.zap2it.com shows "No Episode Title". This matches the SD data.
tvguide.com also shows a generic subtitle.

So it looks like Nik isn't providing anyone with the data. That may change when the new season begins.

Oops. Looks like I need to pay better attention. That listing clearly has original air dates. Sorry.

In my case, (zipcode 58601), I get listings of Avatar airtimes with same description, but according to tvguide.com/listings for my zipcode, those episode air times are fakes replaced by SpongeBob SquarePants or Ned's Declassified (Sat 10am/2pm & Sun 10am/2pm). This is Mountain Standard Time.

ive also got 3 minor problems with avatar in the listings
the title has recently changed causing my recording rule to miss it for a week
and the subtitle is blank
and something within the listings is marking each new episode as being the same thing so they wind up not recording for being repeats

the listing problems i have are on ytv(xmltvid 12045)
