Schedule download errors, MythTv

Postby ravenb72 » Sat Feb 06, 2016 9:51 am

I did post this same question on MythTv's forum. I am not sure if ts a Mythtv issue or a schedules Direct issue. My guess is its config issue. Anyway, here goes.

I was using the over-the-air guide for my Mythbuntu 0.27 back end. It did work but obviously didn't provide enough information.

I have a paid Schedules Direct subscription and setup my channels. I have my user info entered into Mythtv and changed my video source for the channels. It looks like some files download other don't. Attached is an output when I run mythfilldatabase with debug options enabled.

For example:
CODE: SELECT ALL
Code: Select all

I solved the issue, something was wrong with my password entered into MythTV. Although this was a studpid mistake I was confused by the mythfilldatabase output.

Code: Select all
2016-02-06 09:02:45.244770 D  DownloadManager: downloadProgress: http://webservices.schedulesdirect.tmsdatadirect.com/schedulesdirect/tvlistings/xtvdService to  is at 1335 of 1335 bytes downloaded
2016-02-06 09:02:45.244786 D  DownloadManager: downloadFinished(140454087887552)
2016-02-06 09:02:45.244818 D  DownloadManager: redirectUrl()
2016-02-06 09:02:45.244832 D  downloadFinished(20006976): COMPLETE: http://webservices.schedulesdirect.tmsdatadirect.com/schedulesdirect/tvlistings/xtvdService
2016-02-06 09:02:45.245155 E  DataDirect: Failed to get data: Download error

The fact that it completes downloading doesn't indicate that there is an authentication issue. I suspect the 1335 bytes of data actually contain a message indicating that authentication failed. Even within the Mythtv backend there was nothing to indicate an authentication problem. Small enhancements like clearly indicating a password failure would greatly improve the user friendliness of MythTV.
