Missing field "original title"

Postby TVB-Jo » Wed Jun 22, 2016 3:20 pm

There doesn't seem to be a field "original title" for the original titles of movies / episodes in foreign languages. Usually one of the most important fields, at least in non-English countries.

What is a programID of a program which should have an original title?

It is not specific programs, it is generally missing. Examples from today from ch. Pro7:
- MV007321970000, title "X-Men: Erste Entscheidung", shoud have original title added "X-Men: First Class"
- EP019360070254, episode title "Die unglaubliche Reise in einem verrückten Privatflugzeug", shoud have original title added "He Loves to Fly and He D'Ohs"
But this is for hundreds of channels with thousands of programs.

Any. For example
POST https://json.schedulesdirect.org/20141201/programs
with body:
["MV007321970000", "EP019360070254"]
and token in headers.
Returns the (in this case German) localized titles, the original titles are missing.

I am beta-testing a cross-reference capability, but it will be application-dependent. (Not everyone is going to need it, and I don't want to invalidate hundreds of thousands of program records to add a new field. If the user wants "foreign language" information, they can have their grabber request it, by twiddling a configuration option)

That's why I'm asking which application you're currently using, or if you're a developer that is going to add this to a grabber that you're writing.

In the end it would have been for TV-Browser but if it is much overhead it might be not necessary.

Hi,

I would be interested in the original title and country of origin as well. It's for my own grabber. How would I go about it?

Thanks...
