Re: PTVL and Zap2It

Pocket TV Listings is an approved application, so you should not need to change applications. However they may require you to download an update. Please consult their website http://ptvl.thumbsupsoft.com/ for updates on when they become SD compatible and for additional instructions on using or updat...

Re: HDTV frequency versus cable box numbers

Speaking just for myself and not on behalf of Schedules Direct I hope that SD will be able to provide the QAM tuning information in the future. This will probably require changes in the Subscriber Agreement and Privacy Policy in addition to server software on the SD side, but it would be a great val...

Re: "Approved" applications?

The restriction on making a copy or archive of the data is still an issue. Inserting the records into a database would seem to qualify as making a (non-ephemeral) copy, yet such behavior is virtually required by any software that would make use of the data. This is a separate problem from the "Appr...

Re: SOAP Access

We encourage you to release anything you do under an OSI approved license. But all the Board Members of Schedules Direct have written software applications and realize that they are not born fully formed and some never develop into fully fledged contributions to society at large. As long as you comp...

Re: "Approved" applications?

XBMCMythTV needs to be added to the list. Five minutes to write an e-mail from a person involved with the project is all it takes. We've contacted some of the larger projects ourselves, but even as a MythTV developer I have no idea what XBMCMythTV is and I'm sure there are many such small projects o...

Re: "Approved" applications?

Sorry, you can not use Schedules Direct data with DigiGuide. There are fortunately several OSS and freeware applications similar to DigiGuide out there that you can use. Maybe "My Telly" has improved since you last tried it? You might also want to visit the DigiGuide forums, DigiGuide has licensed d...

Re: Better/Worse/Same

If there are any problems complain to us, not TMS. The way it works is we collect all the problems up into a couple different e-mails depending on the type of problem and TMS addresses the problems we send them within certain set time-frames. In order for listings problems to be fixed TMS needs to f...

Re: "Approved" applications?

The "Approved Applications" really are the approved applications and definitely are not supported by or in any way endorsed by Schedules Direct. Claims in addition to copy rights are being claimed under contract law, trademark law and other forms of law under the Subscription Agreement. Please read ...

Re: Packaged Distributions?

To make it clear Schedules Direct does not release any of the "Approved Applications". Most projects will need only minimal changes before Sept 1st and these should be available to package managers soon.
