Re: MythTV Dropping Support for Data Direct in MythTV 31

I think(*) the point David was trying to make .... (*) That is a guess, I can't know exactly the entire thought process FWIW, just as a followup as to what some of the thought process apparently included, here is the beginning of a later thread where David discussed the features he was looking at f...

Re: Can I pay for a longer membership

I realize that there is a 1year membership, but can one pay for like a 5 year, or if I made multiple separate year payments would it just keep adding another year on (this is an old topic, but...) SD has previously stated that because they cannot properly estimate future costs (upstream can change ...

Re: Issues due to differences between SD and Sky channel names

Is there anyway I might change the channel names that I receive from Schedules Direct instead? You can likely write a xsltproc interposer script to adjust things, but the better solution may be to get TVH to save the changes. I am sure TVH would accept your code contributions if they are well desig...

Re: What Linux TV Tuner app works best with SD?

Why does every piece of Linux software think you're trying to start the next Amazon from a laptop??? The linux community is extremely bi-model, between those that can write kernel drivers (and don't need no stink'n documentation), and those that are beginners who need the step by step instru...

Re: API-next

There are certain elements in an EPisode response that can sometimes only be obtained by merging the SHow data (seasons and cast come to mind, but there may be others). It would be nice if an EPisode response would return SHow data in some way (perhaps additional fields, perhaps a new optional eleme...

Re: image metadata - program ID with 10 or 14 chars?

I wonder if this information is still/already valid. By observation (and a few of my own codes), I think that one needs to start by requesting the 10 character programID to get "generic"/"series"(season for US) data, and then try the 14 character reference to see what, if anything, is provided for ...

Re: API-next

Something I thought I included (perhaps elsewhere) is that all (mostly image?) URLs should be direct SD URLs (with a possible redirect), not the S3 URL (or the ability to request same). The issue is that with grabber or app caching, the S3 URL may no longer be valid at some future point if: (a) SD d...

Re: MythTV Dropping Support for Data Direct in MythTV 31

You're not *REQUIRED* to use the JSON service... you could use tv_grab_na_dd to get XMLTV format from the DataDirect service (although I'm not sure why you'd want to). You could always post on the MythTV (dev) list to point out to David that additional option. I think(*) the point David was trying ...

Re: Dumbest Question at SD EVER

I believe that TVHeadend uses the XMLTV format to ingest data. There are a couple of different Schedules Direct XMLTV (JSON) grabbers available that produce the data for the ingest. As I know very little about TVHeadend, I suspect you are going to get better information on the forums that discuss tv...

Re: No channel mapping for new channel

You should probably open a ticket with Schedules Direct for new OTA sub-channels (as a "missing" channel). It is *possible* others will do so before you, and it is *possible* GraceNote (the guide upstream) will do it (if the station works with them), so if you just wait someone else might do the wor...
